Lets start the year with understanding some basic principals of blending and cooking fragrant sauces & bases for dishes that are easy and healthy.
From basic we will progress on to making some wonderfully delicious and aromatic dishes that will encompass French, Indian and Italian cuisine. You will be a confident and efficient Home Chef hosting your own dinner parties after this! A full course description is available for inspection prior to booking.

On a visit to Sri Lanka a few years back for my sisters wedding, I fell in love with the cuisine the moment the plane touched down…..
In spite of its tiny size Sri Lanka boats an amazing variety of food and styles of cooking. We will sample some of the Islands popular dishes at this class that aims to introduce a cuisine that is rich in flavour and aromatics that will have your taste buds captivated.
We will start off by making our own Ceylon Curry Powder that is unique to this cuisine.
Then we will make a meal of
“Love Cake” Dessert unique to Sri Lanka to finish off the meal

Semi-Private Cooking Course on Indian Cuisine (total package price $390 +hst) limited to only 6 per course – This is an intense course and suitable for those confident in the kitchen
Session 1 – Introduction - Sunday April 9
12 – 3pm
The first of our three sessions in Indian Cuisine, we will start off with an introduction to Indian spices, how to make authentic garam masala, cooking popular appetizers e.g. Samosas and Pakoras and street food, including succulent Kofta (pork and lamb) Kebabs, Tamarind, potato and chickpea Chaat “salad” with crispy puri (fried Indian bread) and Chicken Tikka bites.
Session 2 – Intermediate Class – Sunday May 7
12 – 3pm
In this second session we will be demystifying the art of the perfect Indian curry. You will make your own rich onion and tomato masala base from which we will create a selection of delightful north Indian dishes including Prawn Bhuna, Chicken Masala, Coconut Chicken Curry, Butter Chicken and a delicious Chickpea, potato and mushroom curry.
Session 3 – Advanced Class – Sunday June 11
12 – 3pm
This final session covers a selection of traditional Indian breads and accompaniments including nans, chapattis, stuffed partanthas (chapattis), selection of rice dishes and chutneys. You will also learn the art of incorporating dishes that create “fusion” by blending Western/European cuisine with Indian influences.
